The Preview: Alliance Catholic Credit Union consists of over 40,000 members with a team of around 130 employees serving the financial needs of their community.
The Goal: In order to provide the best service possible for their members, Alliance Catholic Credit Union needed a way to help their employees become experts in the wide array of products and services that ACCU offers—without taking up valuable work time or putting employees through tedious training seminars.
The Game: Through collaboration between ACCU and Engagified, ACCU employees were able to truly become “players” in ACCU—Game On! With the option of switching between three different sports themes (Football, Basketball and Tennis), employees are immersed in sports imagery and game language to get them in the competitive spirit. Underlying the fun language and design, there is quality product and services information in their “playbook” that helps players get further in the game and answer weekly questions. ACCU—Game On! allowed employees to be trained by playing a game, improving their understanding by dedicating a few minutes each day.
ACCU—Game On! was designed to meet ACCU’s training needs, with tailored content that directed attention to areas employees have struggled with in the past. This six-week game put players to the test each week with product and services questions ranging from online banking to loans to CDs and IRAs. With a leaderboard and weekly winners, each week employees got a chance to win prizes and bragging rights—culminating in a final showdown between the two winners with the highest overall score.
Not only did the game provide a fun alternative to traditional training methods, it also offered the opportunity for those in charge of learning and development to track employee participation and performance. The statistics page provided real-time feedback showing individual user activity, cumulative game statistics, and adjustable filters for tracking weekly performance.
